Astro’s Playroom Video Game 2020

Astro’s Playroom is a free game, pre-installed to every PlayStation 5 console. Whilst initially awestruck by the game, it didn’t take very long to see why Sony’s catchy ‘For the Players’ tagline is an admirable slogan built on a history of gaming icons. This game is incredibly well-made; the care put into it is visible in every corner; but as it is it was not made for people like me. Astro’s Playroom is as old as the PlayStation 5, and this is most likely the first game new owners booted up. Despite being a brief experience, this is the kind of game that can be played with family members and is worth playing in 2025. The Astro franchise is built upon the success of the PlayStation brand and became the de facto mascot.

Just a few days ago, we added a second Special Bot, Selene, from the PS5 title Returnal. Once again, working together, you were able to crack the riddle and free her to make it 2 out of 4. TG88 nailed the platforming genre, and it only took a cute little robot to give them the courage to innovate. Japan Studio gained the confidence to create a richer world for Astro after the success of Astro Bot Rescue Mission for the PlayStation VR in 2018.

Each bit of grain is felt through your hand, which makes it intense in the best way. Take when you’re exiting the beach and you’re walking against the fans that are blowing sand across you. The microphone makes the wind more intense while the vibrations of the sand are felt as the controller feels like a sandstorm. As mentioned before, Astro’s Playroom demonstrates the PS5’s potential. The speed of the SSD as levels instantly load is impressive, as nothing was this fast with the PlayStation 4.

We will be back soon with 2 more riddles on the run-up to the release of Astro Bot. And by the looks of it, we might have to make the next ones even harder. Below you’ll find a list of all Artefacts locations in Astro’s Playroom. Click on the Artefact’s name for a more detailed explanation, or click on the level’s name for a full guide to all the collectibles in that area.

File History

Spin all three to raise the platform they are on, revealing this puzzle piece. Puzzle Piece 1/4 – As soon as the level starts, turn around and head back across the platforms to find this puzzle piece. Puzzle Piece 2/4 – After reaching the next group of enemies circling a platform, go to the left where you can pull a wire and reach a tightrope. Puzzle Piece 1/4 – In the next section there are two groups of enemies walking in circles around a patch of dirt. Defeat both groups to reveal a plant that spawns some platforms when attacked, then jump over onto the tree platforms to find this puzzles piece.

Most of them involve collectibles and completing specific parts of the story. In the first chapter of our guide, you will find Beginner’s Guide and descriptions of the fights against Bosses. The chapter contains information about the controls, the game’s length and language version. ASTRO’s PLAYROOM is a platformer video game developed by Team ASOBI and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. The song “I Am Astro Bot [Playroom Remix],” which repeats the title and plays on the opening menu, is enough to make it a catchy earworm.

The final neat feature of Astro’s Playroom is the Network Speed Run challenge levels. You can do normal platforming challenge levels with Astro or ones focused on each suit to earn the best times. In between each standard platforming level are dedicated sections to unique suits for Astro. Memory Meadow, for instance, Astro becomes a little roller ball that uses the Dualsense’s trackpad for control instead of the left thumbstick. Astro’s Playroom is a very simple and small in-scale and scope game. Every bit of platforming presents almost no challenge, and so do the enemies.

Puzzle Piece 2/4 – At the second hang glider section some rings will appear. You need to launch yourself through the ring on the right to grab this puzzle piece. Puzzle Piece 4/4– In the area you end up in after falling to grab puzzle piece 3, you need to grab the lowest yellow handhold on the wall to make this puzzle piece appear.

Puzzle Piece 4/4 – After defeating the boss, go halfway across the newly revealed tightrope and look to the right. In a hole in the wall, you can see a spot to shoot, and when you do it reveals a new platform that has this puzzle piece at the end. Artifact 1/2 “PSVR Processor Unit” – After jumping to the top of the wall, go to the right and pull the wire to reveal this artifact. Puzzle Piece 1/4 – Right at the start of the area, pull the wire on the right side to reveal this puzzle piece.
